International Conference
The international conference Gender in the Art: Body, Sexuality, Identity, Resistance takes place on October 27th and 28th at Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
The main objective of the event is to discuss gender issues in the artistic panorama of contemporary Portuguese-speaking countries (21st century) in a transdisciplinary way.
The conference is part of a series of events organised by the National Museum of Contemporary Art - Museu do Chiado (MNAC-MC), by the Center for the History of Art and Artistic Research (CHAIA) of the University of Évora (EU) and the Interdisciplinary Science Center (CICS.NOVA) of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH / UNL).

This conference aims to bring together people from different Portuguese speaking countries, coming from academia, activism and other areas, to reflect and dialogue, in a critical, transdisciplinary and systemic way, on the issue of gender in the field of contemporary art and culture.

Margarida Saraiva, chief curator of BABEL, has presented her research about Curatorial Practices After the Global.
